外部想象是想象的一种形式。与内部想象相对。基本上是视觉想象，可以想象整个动作，即从准备姿势一直想象到动作结束的姿势，亦可想象部分动作，即只想象所要作的动作的某一细节或成套动作的顺序，或想象自己在取得最佳成绩时表情动作和外界反应。若与内部想象相结合对动作进行复演，效果更佳。

英语语境:

External imagery, as opposed to internal imagery, represents a form of imagery. It is basically visual imagination, referring to either imagining the entire actions, namely, from the preparing positions to the finishing positions, or imagining partial actions, namely, imagining a certain detail or the sequence of a series of actions, or imagining the facial actions and external reactions when one is achieving the best performance. There will be a better effect if eternal imagery is repeated with internal imagery.
