妄想是思维障碍的一种，神经病症状之一。表现为违反常规的思维，包括错误信念、病态的推理和判断。虽不符合客观现实及患者所受的教育水平，但患者对此坚信不疑，无法被说服，也不能以亲身体验和经历加以纠正。其成因未明，可能与意识障碍、精神刺激、情感障碍、暗示作用以及老年人记忆力和判断力减退有关。

Delusion is one of thought disorders and one of the symptoms of nervous diseases. It is typically characterized by erratic thinking, including false beliefs and pathological reasoning and judgement. Though it does not fit with the reality and the patient's educational level, the patient firmly believes it, who can by no means be persuaded and rectified by personal experiences. The causes, which remain unknown, are possibly attributed to conscious disorders, mental stimulation, affective disorders, psychological suggestion, as well as the decline in memeory and judgement for the elderly.
