Indexes of urinary catecholamine excretion and state anxety of elite athletes in Chinese national teams in different time zone during competition were tested to investigate the relationship between them and athletes'mental display. It was found that athletes with better performance showed higher level of psychological activation in the time zone just 0.5~2 hour before competition; while athletes with poor performance showed the contrary condition with distinct increase of urinary catecholarnine excretion and higher level of state anxiety early prior to and after competition.
