Roberto Assagioli, an Italian psychiatrist, is best known for his formulation of a personality theory and psychotherapy model called “psycho synthesis”, which is the opposite of Frued's “psychoanalysis”, but it is not so influential in comparison with the latter. Assagioli proposes “height psychology “as opposed to “depth psychology”, and maintains that the goal of psychotherapy is to integrate the different sub personalities within the person and then make these sub personalities interact harmoniously.
