抑郁性神经症是指一种持久的心境低落状态，常伴有焦虑、躯体不适感和睡眠障碍。患者有较充分的自知力和治疗要求，无精神病的症状，生活能力未受到严重影响，若得到及时科学的药物和心理治疗，绝大多数可完全治愈。由于未受到应有的重视，本病患者往往被忽视或误诊为“神经衰弱”，结果使患者病情加重甚至轻生。

Depressive neurosis refers to a persistent low state of mind, often accompanied by anxiety, physical discomfort and sleep disorders. Patients have self-awareness and treatment requirements though there are no psychiatric symptoms and their life ability has not been seriously affected. If treated with timely scientific medicine and psychological treatment, the vast majority of patients can be completely cured. On the contrary, if little attention is paid, the patients are often misdiagnosed as "neurasthenia". In such cases, patients usually get worse or even choose to commit suicide.
