The fundamental laws of human thinking are explained and the knowability of editing methods is proposed as the practical ground of all editorial operations. With the editorial practice of college journals in mind, analysis is made of the intermediacy, indirectness, regularity, unconventionality, creativity and other thinking characteristics of the editors of college journals. Based on this, the major ways of the editors'thinking are summarized as the fixed thinking, radiating thinking, thematic thinking, systematic thinking and anticipating thinking.
