The comparative research on expert-novice teachers'cognitive process shows that expert teachers are better than novices because the former have more abundant and elaborated knowledge. Accordingly, the research focus is shifted from teachers'efficiency to teachers'knowledge. There are three approaches to teachers'knowledge. Teaching-knowledge-based research suggest that the key to teaching efficiency lies in teachers'possession of knowledge about subjects, teaching methodology and subject teaching methodology.
