Dry reaction of anthracene and maleic anhydride was carried out by microwave irradiation method. The influences of irradiation time and irradiation energy on the yield were discussed, and the results were compared with that of the normal method. The results show that the reaction rate enhancement of the microwave irradiation reaction compared to the conventional dry reaction and the conventional solution reaction were 120 times and 30 times respectively.
