Refinery alkaline residue is a kind of spent alkali liquor produced in the process of refining oil in the refining industry of petroleum. Alkaline residue is dark and stink, containing many contaminants, such as sulphide, volatile phenol and naphthenic acid, neutral oil of different density, and free alkali as well. So alkaline residue is one of the main pollution sources of the refinery plant. Wet air oxidation is one of the many treatments on refinery alkaline residue, with high efficiency, low secondary pollution, and high oxidizing-speed.
