Thermal fluctuation in bent pipes of thermal stratification tends to induce thermal fatigue, so it increasingly attracts attention in nuclear engineering and technology. We studied the flow and heat transfer mechanism of thermal stratification in bent pipes, established the mathematical model. We stimulated the temperature fluctuation of fluid by large eddy simulations on FLUENT platform in the cases with and without vortex breaker and obtained the dimensionless temperature fluctuation graph and RMS dimensionless temperature of an elbow pipe.
