The advance in catalytic incineration of tail gas from sulfur recovery processing is reviewed based on patents, papers, commercial catalysts and proprietary techniques, and the technological and economic parameters are compared between thermal incineration and catalytic incineration. A catalytic incineration could effectively decrease fuel consumption, thus being especially suitable for the incineration of tail gas from sulfur recovery processing like SCOT.
