Producing heat shock proteins (HSPs) is an common response of organisms to high temperature. The transcriptional regulation is the main controlling method for heat shock protein genes. The heating shock factor(HSF) achieves control of the transcription of heat shock genes through interaction with the heat shock elements(HSEs) in the controlling segment of the upstream of heat shock gene. In addition, the variety, structures, functions and transcription regulation mechanism of plant heat shock factors are introduced briefly.
