Field experiments were conducted using 14 functional rice cultivars from Yunnan in three ecological sites (Xinping, Yuxi and Xundian) to investigate yield, functional components content and ecocline of japonica rice with different genotypes. The results showed that mean yield, valid spike number and seed setting rate were significantly higher in Xundian than those in Xinping and Yuxi. Spikelets per panicle in Yuxi was significantly higher than that in Xinping and Xundian, whereas thousand-seed weight showed no obvious difference among three eco-sites.
