In order to study the relationship between γ-energy spectrum and the atomic number, the density and the thickness of the absorbing medium, based on the Monte Carlo methods, the MCNP5 program was used to simulate the changes of γ-energy spectrum after γ photons for 1.46 MeV emitted by 40K through absorbing mediums of 12C, 27Al, 32S, 56Fe and 65Zn, and the correlation between the γ-energy spectrum and the parameters of the absorbing medium was summarized.
