Vacuum refrigeration is an ideal pre-cooling technology. This technology has been widely applied in such fields as agricultural products (vegetables, fruits and flowers etc) and food industry. The cooling compressor and vacuum pump are main energy-consuming components of a vacuum refrigeration device. Spinach was taken as the research object and energy consumption analysis was carried out on the situation at which the vacuum pump starts when the temperature of the winding tube of water-collecting device falls to different values. The purpose is to look for a reasonable configuration so as to enhance the energy utilization efficiency.
