群体思维体现在当群体就某一问题或事宜的提议发表意见时，有时会长时间处于集体沉默状态，没有人发表见解，而后人们又会一致通过。通常是组织内那些拥有权威，说话自信，喜欢发表意见的主要成员的想法更容易被接受，但其实大多数人并不赞成这一提议。之所以会这样，是因为群体成员感受到群体规范要求共识的压力，不愿表达不同见解。群体思维容易导致错误的决策和行为，当一个组织过分注重整体性，而不能持一种批评的态度来评价其决策及假设，这种情况就会发生。

英语语境:

Group thinking means that when the group discuss on a certain problem or issue, sometimes the group would remain silent and no one expresses his views. However the proposals of the authorities or the group members who are confident and like to voice their points are more likely to be accepted even if most people are not in favor of their proposals, because the group members are under the pressure of the group regulation which requires consensus and are reluctant to express different opinions. Group thinking can easily lead to wrong decisions and actions. When an organization overemphasizes on integrity and doesn't hold a critical attitude to evaluate their decisions and assumptions, this kind of situation will happen.
