所谓商业革命，是指交换方式产生根本性变化的变革过程。在这个过程中，交换活动的规模和范围急剧增大和扩展，发生频率急剧增加，对当时社会经济生活产生的影响十分重大。20世纪末发生的全球商业革命具有三大特征：一是在跨国公司重组并购浪潮中所形成的高度产业集中，二是由核心公司对其所在价值链所进行的“系统集成”的管理手段，三是在系统集成过程中所产生的对价值链各个层面的巨大的集约压力，即所谓的“瀑布效应”。

Commercial revolution is the transformation process during which the mode of trading changes fundamentally. In this process, the scale and frequency of the trading activities would increase rapidly, which would greatly affecte the whole social economic activities. The global commercial revolution which occurred at the end of the 20th century has three major characteristics which respectively are the highly centralized industries which resulte from the merger among multinational companies, the management tool of systems integration which is formed by value chain of the core companies and the intense pressure on all levels of the value chain which is formed in the process of systems integration (also called the cascade effect).
