阶级论广义泛指一切关于阶级和阶级斗争的理论；狭义专指马克思主义关于阶级和阶级斗争的理论。马克思以前或马克思同时代已有许多资产阶级学者对阶级和阶级斗争的事实作了论述。但他们不理解阶级划分是一种历史现象，看不到阶级产生的经济根源和阶级冲突的实质。
英语语境:
Theory of class, broadly refers to all the theories of class and class struggle; the narrow sense refers specifically to the Marxist theory of class and class struggle. Before Marx or Marx's contemporary bourgeois scholars, there are many facts of class and class struggle are discussed.
