英语语境:
The notion of principle and trend as a combination was first put forward by Wang Fuzhi at the turning period from the Ming to the Qing Dynasty. Wang referred principle to the law according to which things operate. Trend refers to the tendency along which things develop. According to Wang, these two sub-concepts are inseparate and unified. Principle is the foundation while trend is the manifestation.
