五伦——君臣、父子、兄弟、朋友、夫妻的人伦结构关系是中国伦理的基础和出发点，然而，在以往的儒家伦理研究中，对五伦未能给予应有的重视和特别的研究，因而很难抓住儒家伦理与中国伦理的特质。实际上，五伦关系是儒家对中国社会整个社会关系的设计，它不仅在一个原点即个体上囊括了全部的人际关系，而且也以伦理的形式概括了血缘、伦理、政治等各种性质的社会关系。

英语语境:

The five human relationships, namely, the relationships between monarch and subjects, between father and son, between husband and wife, between brothers, and between friends, is the base of Chinese ethics of human relationships. However, the previous researches on Confucian ethics did not value much the five human relationships. It is therefore difficult to grasp the characteristics of Confucian ethics and Chinese ethics. In fact, the five aspects represent the whole picture of Chinese social relationships. It not only includes all the interpersonal relationships of an individual but also ethically includes all kinds of social relationships regarding kinship, ethics and politics.
