Through analyzing the ways people get means of livelihood, Hume holds that justice is nothing but a kind of social contract and the human virtue for respecting individual property. He put forward three principles of justice, i.e. the principle of permanent property rights, that of property takeover according to agreement, and that of keeping promises. Meanwhile, Hume emphasizes the role of the government in carrying out these three principles. Hume's thoughts of economic justice reflect the general features of the market economy to a certain degree, which is a reference for us to study economic justice issues of China society.
