汉语语境:
太极生两仪，两仪生四象。这一观点最先出自《易经》。唐代有学者提出，四象指代五行中的金、木、水、火四象。后另有其说认为，春、夏、秋、冬或者阴、阳、刚、柔是所谓的四象。
英语语境:
The statement that the Superme Ultimate produces the two forms and the two forms produces the four emblems firstly appeared in The Book of Change. Afterwards, some scholars in the Tang Dynasty held that the four emblems equals to metal, wood, water and fire, four of the five elements. Later, others use the four emblems to refer to the four seasons, or alternativley, yin, yang, the weak and the strong.
