The Story of Buddhist Abbot is an essays written by Kamo no Chomei in the late Pingan Period. The view of the impermanence in this book is a major feature in the history of Japanese literature. It was written in 1212 and described the woes that the author met in youth, the frustrated life, and the leisure life after seclusion. It is an excellent opus of the confession literature in the area of text, content and concept.
