Longduo Mountain Grottoes is located in the northwest of the Longfeng town in Hechuan District of Chongqing, which is about 60 kilometers apart. There are 93 niches. Most of them are small and shallow, carved in late Tang and Five Dynasties. It is divided into five districts in the mountain: Dongyan, Tianwan, Beiyan, Nanyan and Xiyan. It is rich in content, such as the Heavenly Paradise, Avalokitesvara, Three Buddha, Seven Buddha, Thousand Buddha, A Buddha-two disciples-two Bodhisattva-two warriors and so on. Although the destruction of statues is serious, and most of them were made-up by generations, there are many exquisite ones, and some precious niches with time records and special topics. Longduo Mountain Grottoes is important for the study of Bashu Grottoes and Longduo Mountain Buddhist culture.
