汉语语境:

从佛理上讲，色不自色，虽色而空。这可以理解为，从色本身来看，色因缘和合而成，无自性，故而性空。从中不难发现，色与空是一对辩证的佛学概念。

英语语境:

Forms can't exist for its own cause. It is therefore should be seen as emtiness. This is the classical Buddhist viewpoint. That is to say, the existence of form itself depends upon various external condition. In this sense, forms are not self-contained in nature, which is propably what the emptiness means.
