自然宗教和神学宗教对中国传统医德的起源和发展有重要影响。自然宗教的唯心主义病因观，阻碍了人类村疾病的探索，并损害到病人的利益。而神学宗教道德规范中的部分内容在某种程度上反映了社会公德，由此产生了传统医德中尊重病人生命，平等对待病人以及医生互敬的基本医德思想。

Traditional Chinese medical morality was once influenced by the primitive nature religion and the theological religion. These two source of influence are different inn the early time when human could not distinguish doctor from witch. The idealistic concept entrenched in nature religion prevented the human from exploring of disease and harmed the patients'interests. The theological religion, however, tends to make men insist on studying the diseases. Some aspects of morality and norms in theological religion reflected the public morality in some degree. They greatly influenced some thoughts in traditional Chinese medical morality such as respect of patients life, equal treatment of patients, and mutual respect among doctors.
