圣事是天主教会特有的一种宗教礼仪标记。从圣事的角度来理解教会也是早已有之。它表明教会自初就认识到自身架构中包含着两种因素：有形可见的外在制度与无形内在的神恩，即教会中有着恩宠与制度并存的张力。拉辛格教会学的核心是：教会是天主的子民，严格意义上说，是围绕圣体圣事的天主子民，他们因为“基督的身体”而联合在一起。“基督的身体”中有宗教公社，凭借此，教会得以成立。

Sacramental liturgy is unique ritual of Catholic Church. The church as a sacrament has been long understood since the beginning of it, which shows a reflection that the church takes itself as an assembly with both visible institution and invisible grace hence has an intrinsic tension. The basic point of Ratzinger's ecclesiology is that, he sees the Church as the assembling of people of God. In strict sense, people of God are assembled around the Eucharist, and thereby they are united within the body of Christ. The assembly is realized in a sacramental community of the body of Christ.

Some important papers by non-Xidaotang scholars released, and the Xidaotang members, represented by Imam Min Shengguang, began collective writing, which covered Xidaotang’s history, religion, economy, education etc. in great detail. And at this point Xidaotang demonstrated the spirit of "Ummah”(Muslim communities) again. It made itself a model in cultural education, developing economy, promoting ethnic unity and social harmony. The Xidaotang welcomed domestic and foreign scholars to do investigation on it, thus to facilitate related research.
