对汉语兼语式进行研究可以从语言学本体研究和计算实现两个方面展开。本体研究方面，可以应用多种成分测试分析自然语料，总结兼语动词的句法和语义特征，确立基于兼语动词义项而非词形的处理原则，并使用控制理论进行了HPSG框架内的描写。计算实现方面，根据本体研究得出的处理原则和句法描写机制，建立词库并使用类别描述语言(Type Description Language，简称TDL)描写所涉及的句法结构特征。
英语语境:
The study of Chinese pivotal constructions can be carried out from two perspectives: ontological study and computational implementation.From the ontological aspect, syntactic and semantic features can be derived from the results of various constituency tests applied in natural language resources, based on which a sense-based other than orthographical principle of VP1 processing is decided.Moreover, control theory can be introduced to describe constructions within HPSG framework.With respect to implementation, in accordance with the processing principle and syntactic description mechanism, lexicon can be built and syntactic feature structures described with TDL(Type Description Language).
