当塞音是首重音时，本族语者和中国学生都将清塞音发成送气清塞音和部分浊化的清塞音；本族语者将浊塞音发成部分浊塞音和浊塞音，而中国学生将其发成不送气清塞音和部分浊塞音。当塞音位于弱读音节首时，本族语者将/p/、/k/主要发成不送气清塞音，将/k/发成闪音，将浊塞音主要发成浊音；中国学生仍将清塞音发成送气清音。

英语语境:

When stops lie in a syllable of initial stress, NSs and Chinese learners produced the voiceless stops in the form of aspirated voiceless and partially voiced stops. NSs produced the voiced stops into partially voiced and fully voiced, but Chinese learners produced unaspirated stops and partially voiced. When stops lied in the initial of an unstressed syllable, / p /, / k / were mainly presented by unaspirated voiceless stops, and / k / by flap, a type of voiced stop by NSs. However, aspiration was still the major feature for voiceless stops in Chinese learners.
