The Tibeto-Burman language group across the southern range of the Himalayas has a close genetic relationship with the languages along the northern range of the Himalayas in China. After several dozen years of investigation and research, the issues of ethnicity and language in this region have received more and more attention from international linguistic circles. Those researches mainly focus on the type, distribution, genealogical relationship and classification of Tibeto-Burman languages in this region.
