Socialist realism applies the viewpoint and method of the theory of sociology into researching the social origin, social function, and the relationship of the literary creation and social life of literature. It is a study of the relation between literature and social science. According to one of the founders of socialist realism, Robert Escarpit who is a French scholar( 1918-2000), the task of literary sociology is not to seek the scale of the aesthetic value, but to better understand some literary facts that decide social phenomenon.
