词是韵文之一体，是词体发展和词体观念嬗变的结果。词由唐五代时配合燕乐歌唱的纯艺术歌曲发展到宋末完全脱离音乐，成为新体格律诗，是一个漫长的动态过程，人们对它的认识也随着变化。元代以后，词已成为“古典文学”，人们站在各自时代的立场对其做倾向性的理解，认识越来越深刻。应以开放的思维，动态地认识词体和词体观。

英语语境:

Ci is one kind of verse, resulting from the development of its form and view. Ci was purely artistic songs sung to Yan Yue (music at court feasts in ancient times) during the Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties. But in the late Song Dynasty, it developed into a new stylistic rhythm poem completely freeing from music. It was a long and dynamic process people's realization towards it also changed correspondingly. After Yuan Dynasty, Ci became “classical literature”. People in different dynasties gain deeper cognition by understanding tendentiously. We should understand the form and view of Ci dynamically with open mind.
