最早提出发现与突转的是亚里士多德，他在《诗学》第十、第十一章中认为发现与突转是情节的主要成分。长期以来，这两种手法被认为是编剧艺术中最富于戏剧性的技巧，并被广泛使用。在剧本创作中，好的突转场面不光着眼于剧情的起伏跌宕，而且立足于人物刻画，力求通过情节的合情合理的突转写出人物剧烈丰富的心理变化与感情活动。在创作实践中，发现通常总是与突转相互联用或者同时出现，剧本往往通过发现来造成剧情的激变。

英语语境:

Aristotle mentioned the revealment and peripeteia in the chapter 10 and chapter 11 of Poetics first, and thought it was the main component of the plot. For a long time, these two methods are considered as the most dramatic art of writing skills, and thus is widely used. In script writing, the sudden change of scene not only focuses on the ups and downs of the plot, but also is based in characterization, and strives to write characters'rich psychological change and emotional activities through the reasonable peripeteia of the plot.In the real writing practice, revealment turn interconnected with peripeteia or appear at the same time and plays often make a strong change of plot through the revealment.
