法书，又称法帖，是指学习书法时所临摹的名家范本，以及对古代书法名家名作的敬称。例如，我们现在有这样一种说法：学楷须法颜柳欧赵，学行须法二王。现在，通称名家所作之书法作品为法书，隐含有尊重作者之意。明清两代期间，宫廷内集中了位数颇多的法书作品，现仍在流传于世的有《法书要录》《中国法书全集》等。
英语语境:
Model calligraphy is copies of masters of calligraphy, which you can imitate when learning calligraphy. It's also a honorific for ancient calligaraphy matsterpieces. For example, as the saying goes:“ Learning regular script must follow the example of Yan Zhen-qing, Liu Gong-quan, Ou-yang Xun and Zhao Meng-fu. Learning running script must follow the example of Wang Xi-zhi and Wang Xian-zhi.” Nowadays, calligraphies written by masters are usually called model calligraphy, which implies respect for writers. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the royal family collected lots of model calligraphies, of which The Selection of Calligraphy Text, The Complete Works of Chinese Calligraphy Text and so on have been handed down over the ages.
