Qu Wei is a famous Chinese composers of the 20th century, his music creation covers the opera, symphony, piano, songs, and many other styles. All kinds of works in both quantity and quality have made remarkable achievements. As a mature composer of new China, the piano music has always been one of the important creation field. Starting in the 1940s, Qu Wei created eight piano works, including the Mongol Nocturne, Flower Drum, A Prelude to No. 1, A Prelude to No. 2, Themes and Variations, Lotus Dance and Piano with Band – Poem. The first seven solo works are included in Qu Wei piano album, published in 1991 by People's Music Publishing House.
