鞠衣，王后六服之一。皇后亲桑之服。其色浅黄，象桑叶初生之色。《周礼·天官·内司服》郑玄注：“鞠衣，黄服也……鞠衣，黄桑服也。色如鞠尘，象桑叶始生，月令三月，荐鞠衣于上帝，告桑事。”贾公彦疏：“鞠衣”者，色如鞠尘色，告桑之服也。此外，命妇、九嫔亦服鞠衣。
英语语境:
Juyi is a type of royal clothes of the queen, and is only put on at the time of mulberry events. The light yellow color of Juyi resembles that of the sprouting mulberry leaves. According to the notes of Zhengxian from the book of the rite system of the Zhou Dynasty, Juyi is a kind of yellow garment, the mulberry yellow clothing. Its color suggests the burgeoning of mulberry buds. In the third month of the lunar year, the emperor is obliged to offer Juyi as sacrifice to the ancestors to pray for rich mulberry harvests. Jia Gongyan annotated that the Juyi has the colour similar to that of the mould from distiller's yeast, and is specially used in mulberry events. Besides, noble women and imperial concubines can wear the Juyi.
