Kunming Yangqin is a type of folk rap art in Kunming. In respect of form of singing and function, its traditional singing style can be divided into major key, minor key, and Guqu and ShuQiang, all belonging to Qupai music. The genre of its script combines narration and daiyan (first-person narration) with daiyan as the main feature, which helps render some of its singing style profound and subtle. As a result, Kunming Yangqin is flexible enough to adapt to different rap music lyrics and contents. In addition, it can describe environment, narrate plots and depict characters. What's more, it contains many important elements of opera music.
