英语语境:
MenHu Cabinets, which evolved from desk, are a very common type of furniture in average people's houses. It is said that folk dowries usually have such furniture. The family of the bride often tie assorted objects to this cabinet with a red ribbon, hence its another name "JiaDi" (literall, the bottom of the dowry). MenHu Cabinets are often put in the bedroom to store valuable items.
