南词是一种汉族说唱艺术，有曲调之意，与宋、元南曲相比，已是名同实异；曲体为西安鼓乐所独有，分前后两部分。前部分为多牌慢板序曲，由《得胜令》、《宦门子》、《贺圣朝》、《迎仙客》、《大圣朝》五个曲牌组成；后部分为南词，为曲牌联章体，其间有专用的“过拍鼓”作连接过渡。
英语语境:
The southern ballad is a type of Han Chinese's rap art, which has the meaning of tunes. Compared with Nanqu in the Song Dynasty and the Yuan Dynasty, they have similar names but distinct denotations. The ballad style is unique to Xi'an drum music, which consists of two parts. The former part is a multi-tune adagio overture comprising five tunes: "Deshengling", "Huan menzi", "Heshengzhao", "Yingxianke" and "Dashengchao"; the latter part is the souther ballad, in the style of qupai associations, in the middle of which there is the exclusive "Guopaigu" which serves a transition.
