表演蹬技时，演员仰卧在特制的座椅中，用双足承接和舞弄道具。远在宋代（960—1279）村落百戏中，已经出现踢瓶、踢盘、踢缸等表演，如今的蹬技就是由此演化而来的。蹬技分为“重蹬技”和“轻蹬技”。蹬缸、蹬桌等较重的道具为“重蹬技”，蹬伞、蹬毯等为“轻蹬技”。

When performing the floor skill, actors lie on a special seat to catch and juggle props with his feet. In the Song Dynasty (960-1279), acrobatics in villages had already included juggling bottles, dishes and jars, etc with feet. Today's floor skill has evolved from those. It is divided into two types: 1) heavy floor skill, referring to juggling with heavy props such as jars, tables, and so forth; 2) light floor skill, referring to juggling with light props such as umbrella, blanket and so forth.
