琼剧历史悠久，是海南特有的一种地方戏剧。在琼剧的形成过程中，琼剧受到宗教、中国戏曲和海南音乐这三大文化因素的影响。琼剧分“文牌”和“武牌”两类：“文牌”用于文戏，其乐器以弦、笛、琴、管、箫等管弦乐器为特征；“武牌”主要用于武戏，其乐器以鼓、锣、拔等打击乐器为特征。
英语语境:
The time-honoured Qiong opera represents a unique local opera of Hainan. There are three major cultural influences on its formation, namely, religion, Chinese opera, and Hainan music.Qiong opera are divided into two categories: Wenpai and Wupai. Wenpai is used in singing and acting, with wind and string instrument as its typical musical instruments, such as strings, flutes, qin (a seven-stringed plucked instrument), wind instruments and xiao (a vertical bamboo flute). Wupai is chiefly used in fighting scenes, and the instruments are characterized by percussion instruments, such as drums, gongs and ba (a plucked string instrument).
