三番四抖——又叫三顶四撞，相声组织包袱的手段之一。指相声表演时，经过再三铺垫、衬托，对人物故事加以渲染或制造气氛，然后将包袱抖搂开以产生笑料。所谓“番”，就是遍数；“抖”，就是抖搂。根据人们的听觉习惯，把矛盾反复地强调，来加深人们的印象。“三番”就是反复强调三遍（不限定为三遍），然后进行“四抖”，就是第四遍时来个巧妙地突变，揭露出矛盾和事物的真相。
英语语境:
Sanfansidou(stressing a paradox repeatedly before making a puchline) is one of the means of organizing crosstalk "cloth-wrappers". It refers to in crosstalk show, after creating atomosphere for the characters and the plot via repeated foreshadowing, the artist "shakes out the cloth-wrapper" to reveal a joke. The so-called "fan" refers to number of times; "dou" means shaking out. According to people's hearing habits, the paradox is repeatedly stressed to deepen people's impression. "sanfan" means to emphasize three times (not limited to three times), and then "sidou", denoting that at the fourth time the artist reveals the truth of the paradox by a clever twist.
