汉语语境:
作为绘画美学术语，三远指中国山水画中“高远”、“深远”、“平远”的透视法。宋郭思纂集的《林泉高致·山水训》云“山有三远自山下而仰山颠，谓之‘高远’；自山前而窥山后，谓之‘深远’；自近山而望远山，谓之‘平远’。”为郭思之父郭熙所提出。韩拙又以“阔远”extension、“迷远”obscure、“幽远”seclusion为“三远”。《山水纯全集·论山》“愚又论三远者，有近岸广水，旷阔遥山者，谓之阔远；有野雾暝漠，野水隔而仿佛不见者，谓之迷远；景物至绝，而微茫缥缈者，谓之幽远。”三远论反映了中国民族特有的山水美学创造与鉴赏的空间意识，具有重要的美学意义。
英语语境:
As a term about perspective in aesthetics of Chinese landscape paintings, the Three-Spacial-Beauty comprehensively shows distance stretching between the horizon, vertical and depth in one painting. As stated in the “Forest Fountain·Landscape Paintings Criticism” edited by Guo Si in the Song dynasty, the vertical beauty leads sight on the mountain top to the foot; the depth beauty from the front to the back; the horizon beauty from near to far. And the explanation was also put forward by Guo Xi, the father of Guo Si. The book “Complete Works of Landscape Drawings·Mountains” says: the Three-Spacial-Beauty can also be described as extension, obscurity and seclusion. Bank near, water afar, mountain away, so is extension; fog thick, water cloaked, mountain misty, so is obscurity; scarcely any, so is seclusion. The Three-Spacial-Beauty features value of beauty in terms of space and Chinese traditional appreciation of landscape drawings.
