英语语境:
Liaoban is one type of adagio singing, also known as "Shanban" (one accented beat for one sound). It refers to a form of variation that makes the preceding and following lines of certain singing passages become refrains. This is achieved by changing the basic rules of adagio singing, adapting the strong-weak relatinship for some singing notes as well as omitting Guomen (short interludes composed by refrains). Liaoban is often inserted into singing passages that are not self-contained within the adagio patterns.
