英语语境:

To sleep on the chair is in fact a sleeping skill of chair-playing, and belongs to a kind of performing art in Peking opera. Actors show their chair-playing skills by jumping, standing, rotating, lying, pulling, turning and other difficult actions and movements with chairs. Most of these performance are to show the hot-tempered character's emotional feelings. Sleeping skill of chair-playing is recorded in the opera Lanma, the character ran his business, having a rest on the chairs which he considered his sleeping bed at dawn.
