汉语语境:

舜为上古五帝之一，其事迹记载，最早见于《尚书•尧典》，其后经先秦诸子及《史记》等的传播，到隋唐时期已成为家喻户晓的传说，并被保留在敦煌地区的民间讲唱文本之中。敦煌写本《舜子变》舜的故事虽不难看出仍以《史记》为蓝本，但以口语形式陈说的表现方式，所述内容与《史记》多所出入。

英语语境:

Shuntzu is one of the ancient Five Emperors. The first reference to the records of Shuntzu is Classic of History: The Canon of Yao. Later, through the scholars of pre-Qin period and Records of the Grand Historian, the story of Shuntzu became a well-known legend during the Sui dynasty and Tang dynasty and was conserved in the text of folklore Chiang-Chang literature in Dunhuang area. Although it is not difficult to identify that story of Shuntzu in Dunhuang manuscript Shuntzu Bianwen used Records of the Grand Historian as the blueprint, the contents were deviated from it as a result of being presented in oral style.
