汉语语境:
在唐朝，朱景玄提出的四格与张彦远提出的五等成为新的绘画批评标准。在张怀璀提出的神、妙、能三品之说基础上，加以逸品，形成了朱景玄的四品说或四格说。朱景玄之后，唐代著名画论家张彦通进其《历代名画记》中又把品评绘画的标准分为五等，即自然、神、妙、精、谨细。
英语语境:
Four Standards and Five Principles were separately promoted by Zhu Jingxuan and Zhang Yanyuan in the Tang dynasty to judge and appreciate paintings from a new perspective. Based on the three standards (liveliness, meaningfulness, sophistication) put forward by Zhang Huaicui, Zhu added “naturalness” to complete his Four Standards. After Zhu Jingxuan, Zhang Yanyuan in his “Famous Paintings in Dynasties” proposed the Five Principles: naturalness, liveliness, meaningfulness, exactness and delicacy.
