汉语语境:
湖北小曲是湖北地方曲艺中音乐性较强的一类说唱艺术，它分“汉滩小曲”和“天沔小曲”。“汉滩小曲”也称“外江小曲”，主要流行于汉口、沙市、宜昌等长江沿岸一带，多以联曲体的结构形式演唱一些故事情节比较复杂的单折子戏。“天沔小曲”又称“内江小曲”，主要流行于汉水一带的天门、沔阳、潜江等地，多以单曲体的结构形式演唱一些富有浓郁地方生活气息的抒情小段。1958年，两类小曲合二为一，正式定名为“湖北小曲”。
英语语境:
HuBei province ditty is an art of talking and singing in HuBei local Chinese folk art forms with strong musical characteristics. It can be divided into “Hantan ditty” and “Tianmian ditty”. “Hantan ditty” is also called “Waijiang ditty”, which mainly prevails in Hankou, Shashi, Yichang etc. along the coast of the Yangtze river；it mostly sings some single highlights from opera with relatively complex plots by the structure of joint music. “Tianmian ditty”, also known as “Neijiang ditty”, is mainly popular in the cities around Hanshui, such as Tianmen, Mianyang, Qianjiang and so on. “Tianmian ditty”, using the structure of single song, sings a short lyric combination of sentences with rich local flavor. In 1958, these two ditties became one ditty and this is officially named “HuBei province ditty”.
