Word painting is a method of composing music starting and thriving in the period of Renaissance. This method emerges in order to make the music more vivid and more appealing. Word painting means “the music expresses a word and a sentence with the style of music and picture. This method focusing on the coordination and the expression of lyrics and music was also called Musica reservata in the period of the Renaissance and the Baroque. This is a kind of highly expressive music through which the composers tried to vividly transmit the lyrics to the listeners by various musical methods.
