影塑造像在麦积山石窟非常有特色，数量多，延续的时间也很长。影塑的制作开始于第二期，即太和时期洞窟里就已经大量使用，这期洞窟全部有影塑造像。第三期的大部分洞窟如76、86、89、93、114、115、156、170等窟也流行在洞窟壁面或小龛内贴影塑。北魏晚期一些洞窟如第133、122等窟仍大量在壁面上贴影塑，如第133窟因洞窟贴满影塑千佛而被称为“万佛洞”，窟内前壁仍保存有数排千佛影塑。

英语语境:

Wall sculptures are unique in Maijishan Grotto. They are numerous and have a long history. They are made in the second session, namely the Taihe period, in which there are wall sculptures in all the grottos. In most of the third-session grottos like the grotto number 76, 86, 89, 93, 114 and so on, there are also wall sculptures in the walls or niches. In the late Northern Wei, some grottos like number 133, 122, etc. still have many wall sculptures. For instance, the grotto 133 is named as “Cave of Ten Thousand Buddhist Figures” for it is full of wall sculptures. In the front wall, there are still some rows of one thousand wall sculptures.
